We’re David and Jenn. Sacramento born and raised. Married with four kids. And right now, like a lot of families in this city, we’re in the middle of something nobody really prepares you for — figuring out how to keep the people who took care of us safe in the homes they love.
David’s parents are in North Sacramento. Jenn’s are in Elk Grove.
Between the two of them, we’ve had every version of the same hard conversation. The one where Dad insists he’s fine. The one where Mom changes the subject. The one where you drive home afterward and sit in the car for a minute because you don’t know what the right move is.
So we did what you probably did — we started researching.
The Research
We spent more late nights than we can count comparing grab bars, reading walk-in tub reviews, trying to figure out who actually knows what they’re doing and who’s just trying to make a sale.
Most of what we found was either buried in sales pitches, written by people who’d clearly never had to make these decisions for someone they love, or so generic it didn’t help anyone — especially not families here in Sacramento.
So we built this.
What This Site Is
Sacramento Senior Safety is a free resource for families going through the same thing we are — looking for trustworthy, licensed contractors who specialize in making homes safer for aging parents and grandparents.
Every contractor in our directory is CSLB-verified. We don’t list anyone we haven’t checked ourselves.
The guides, cost breakdowns, and product reviews on this site come from our own research — the same research we’re doing for our own parents. When we write about what something costs in Sacramento, it’s because we’ve made the calls and gotten the quotes.
